Lovely Kaapsche Hoop....
Hidden away, a jewel of the Lowveld approximately 30 km
from Nelspruit in Mpumulanga. Kaapsche Hoop (also Kaapsehoop), is the perfect
family adventure or romantic getaway.
Kaapsche Hoop, an old diggers
town, earlier known as "Duiwelskantoor"- due to the fairy tale like rock
formations - was proclaimed by Paul Kruger during the gold rush era 1882. The
"Peacock" nugget was found here, and many historical buildings can still be seen
in this interesting little town. Unfortunately soon the the gold resources had
been depleted, Kaapche Hoop became a ghost town.
Home to Blue
Swallows and wild horses, a breath of the fresh Lowveld air is rejuvenating for
explorers and nature enthusiasts alike. Kaapsche Hoop is situated right
next to the Berlin Forest, offering scenic hiking trails and beautiful horse
riding trails.
